A BIG CLOSE UP OF A FLOWER

A BIG CLOSE UP OF A FLOWER

By now you all know how idle I can be. This picture is the type of capture I make at my most idle, as an excuse to not do something more like hard work.

There can be piles of washing up to do, something that needs fixing or a bill to pay. This is a situation when you need to be a busy idle to avoid this kind of work. To be seen to be busy doing something else means you have an excuse to not be doing something.

The Idle Photographer Arrives

lake

Hello and welcome to the Idle Photographers blog.

I love a few things in life, but two of my top loves are being idle and photography. People get the photography part but don’t understand the idle part. By idle I don’t mean lazy, oh no, I mean just taking time out from the shackles of everyday life and work. This doesn’t necessarily mean doing nothing in particular but can mean just doing something for fun and because you have taken time out from life to do it.  For me that’s a number of things including photography, which my adventures will be the focus of this blog.

In time I will update this blog with my photography related stories and idle thoughts and even some examples of my photos, that is if im not idling my time away doing nothing else in particular.

For now I will leave you with a couple of quotes from Jerome K. Jerome, a favourite of mine and a great authority on idleness.

“There is no fun in doing nothing when you have nothing to do.”

“Idleness, like kisses, to be sweet must be stolen.”
